PROF. MARK POST
IN-VITRO MEAT

Let's meet the world's growing demand for meat in a new way, without having to slaughter animals.

Professor Post is a pioneer in producing meat in-vitro. He presented the world’s first hamburger from cultured beef in London in August 2013. Back then, the burger cost $325.000. Today the cost is much lower and the reality of bringing this new meat to market much more visible.

This work led to the receipt of the World Technology Award for Environment at the World Technology Award Gala in New York in November 2013.  Mark has co-authored 160+ papers in leading peer-reviewed scientific journals and has raised 50+ million dollars in funding from various sources including Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, the government, charity and industry.

Meet the New Meat

In his fascinating talk, Mark paints the picture of a new future - one where we are able to meet the world's growing demand for meat without the animals, in a much more sustainable and environmentally friendly way. He shares the vision behind this endeavor, discusses the current state of the project, customer feedback on this meat alternative and when we can expect to see cultured meat on supermarket shelves.

THE MEAT REVOLUTION
CULTURED BEEF FOR FOOD SECURITY

"Mark - thank you for the excellent presentation you have done during the Bayer Innovation Forum on the topic of Innovations and Nutritions of the Future highlighting the developments in the field of cultured beef. The response of the participants was consistently positive. Your talk triggered a lively debate and helped to raise awareness for the topic among the audience, with policy makers from the German Bundestag and other stakeholders. Thank you once again."
